What to Bring to Oak Plains Academy

During their stay at Oak Plains Academy, residents are asked to bring

  • 7 sets of clothing without strings (shorts must be fingertip length)
  • 2 pair of shoes one slip on that can get wet and one pair of a slip-on tennis shoe no laces
  • 7 sets or more underwear / socks (for females, sports bras only no metal clasp or underwire)
  • 2 sets of pajamas
  • Jacket / coat with no strings
  • Small blanket
  • Small stuffed animal (12 in)
  • Hygiene products that do not have alcohol in them as the primary, no glass, no aerosol cans and no loofahs
  • Please initial all clothing items and complete the provided inventory sheet
  • Bring all documents and medication
  • Items provided by the community: Shampoo, deodorant, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush and body wash

What Not to Bring

No clothing is allowed with beer / liquor, drug, violence, cigarette / tobacco or sexually inappropriate references. Also not permitted:

  • Perfumes
  • Skirts
  • Shoes with heels
  • Bandanas
  • Low-cut shirts
  • Sleeveless shirts
  • Tight-fitting clothes
  • Crop tops
  • Shorts above fingertip length.

Electronics such as cell phones and iPods are not permitted on campus
