The residential program serves youth aged 7-17 years old with an IQ of 65 or above who have been diagnosed with a Principal Axis 1 DSM- V diagnosis or experience neurodevelopmental disorders. A neurodevelopmental disorder would include ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and some intellectual developmental disabilities.
The goal of this treatment is to reduce inappropriate behavior and create a more balanced day for your loved one by establishing a fit between the environmental expectations and cognitive abilities. We teach adaptive coping skills and increasing social skills that help assist the individual in maintaining their place in the community.
Creating a balanced day through treatment
In addition to creating a balanced day for children and adolescents using specific reinforcement models, we also promote staff knowledge of behavior management principles (e.g., schedules of reinforcement, operationalizing behaviors; shaping of behaviors and positive reinforcement), enhance critical thinking skills with challenging patients, facilitate positive staff to patient relationships and reinforce patient participation in active treatment. Other key elements of our balanced approach to treatment include a robust and compliant schedule, clinical and evidence-based driven group programming and a collaborative treatment planning approach.
Trauma-informed approach
All of our staff, from our CEO to our housekeepers, take a trauma-informed approach to care. This helps to ensure that all our staff are prepared to ask, “What happened?” and “What do you need?”
Compassionate, understanding behavioral health support
For children struggling with depression or a mental health issue, help and hope are closer than you think.
